Announcing Base Price Increase and New Service Plan Option

Apparel Base Price increases

Beginning July 21, 2011 CafePress will implement Base Price increases to apparel products. Given the rising cost of goods, it was determined that a modest price increase was a necessary business decision.

We came to this conclusion only after carefully considering the impact to our members. No action is required, as the price adjustments will automatically be added to products. You will retain your current mark-up.

New Service Plan Option for Premium Shops

To meet the changing needs of the CafePress community, we’ve also added a new service plan option for Premium Shops. Starting July 21 you can either choose to pre-pay for monthly Premium Shop fees (the current available option), or choose the new no up-front fees plan.

The new no up-front fees plan means you no longer have to pay for Premium Shops unless you earn a commission. You can now open more Premium Shops without worrying about the cost. Here’s how the new service plan option works:
Rather than a $6.95 monthly fee, members will be charged 10% of their monthly royalty (with a maximum monthly payment of $10).
Note that this fee is 10% of the royalty, NOT 10% of sales.
Example: if you earned a $30 royalty in April, we’ll deduct 10% ($3.00) and mail you a check for $27.00. But if you earned $300 in royalties, we would deduct only the $10 maximum – not the full 10% (which would be $30).
Or, if you have a valid credit card on file, you are on the pre-pay plan and this new service plan will not affect you. Your fees will remain the same at the standard rate ($6.95 a month, $18.45 for 3 months, $34.95 for 6 months or $59.95 for 1 year).

Ok, boys and girls! Time to mosey on over to Imagekind and check out their snazzy new artwork pages. They’ve reworked the artwork page to make shopping easier for their customers by making it quicker to shop for products. The changes include the following:

1. Satisfaction Guarantee prominently posted.

2. Single Click Shopping for those customers who don’t need to wade through all of the options.

3. No more going from page to page to choose options. Customers can now choose the product (print, canvas or greeting card) on the same page!

4. Displays a few more pieces of art from that artist’s gallery.

5. Quicker load time.

6. Related tags, colors and categories are featured on the page to help customers find the perfect piece.

Don’t you just love my fancy new Twitter button? —>

This great little icon not only tells readers how many times a post has been tweeted, but offers a VERY easy way to let them retweet the post! They simply click the green “retweet” button and they are automatically redirected to their Twitter home page where they will find a RT already filled in with the post name and a link. All they have to do is hit their update button and their RT is sent out into their Twitter stream.

Awwww…. come on…. I know you want one, don’t you? Then go and grab the Tweetmeme plugin and install it to your WordPress blog. After installation, you can decide where to put your snazzy new button. You can also use the full version like the one you see at the top of this post, or you can choose to use a smaller version.

Automatic SEO Links

I do a lot of affiliating with heavy content sites like this one and one of the biggest PITA’s is to go through several posts to change links. UGH! Definitely a big waste of time. You never know when a company will change networks or a specific type of URL will become obsolete. Also, with POD For You, there are some companies, such as Printfection, that don’t have an affiliate program yet. I have several links to them throughout my blog. If Printfection ever gets an affiliate program, I’ll have a LOT of links that I will have to track down and change…. as if there isn’t enough on my To Do list already. *sigh*

So what’s a busy girl to do?

Simple… I found a great WordPress plug in called Automatic SEO Links. This baby is wonderful! I installed it and simply entered the keyword and URL. Now, whenever I type the keyword, the plug in automatically inserts the link into the first instance of it on the page! I can even choose whether to make the link Follow or NoFollow.

If I’m doing a site about gardening and want to link the word lawnmower to a specific landing page for a certain company, I simply enter the keyword “lawnmower” with the proper URL and BAM!!!! Proper link! The company changes platforms, closes its affiliate program, or switches networks? No problem! Simply go to the Admin area and edit the keyword to change links.

Greeting Card Universe Announces New Shipping Options

Greeting Card Universe has announced new shipping options:

*Standard (3 – 7 business days from ship date)

*2nd Day (2nd business day from ship date)

*Priority Overnight (next business day from ship date)

*International Shipping (typically 7 to 20 days)

These new options can be found during checkout under Shipping Method next to the Promotional Codes box. For the international shipping option, Greeting Card Universe is unable to designate any packages as gifts and certain countries may charge additional fees.
