Imagekind Gets A Makeover For Their Artwork Page
Posted by: | CommentsOk, boys and girls! Time to mosey on over to Imagekind and check out their snazzy new artwork pages. They’ve reworked the artwork page to make shopping easier for their customers by making it quicker to shop for products. The changes include the following:
1. Satisfaction Guarantee prominently posted.
2. Single Click Shopping for those customers who don’t need to wade through all of the options.
3. No more going from page to page to choose options. Customers can now choose the product (print, canvas or greeting card) on the same page!
4. Displays a few more pieces of art from that artist’s gallery.
5. Quicker load time.
6. Related tags, colors and categories are featured on the page to help customers find the perfect piece.
So what do you think of the changes?

Imagekind Introduces True Archival Mounting
Posted by: | CommentsLately, there has been a discussion among the artists of ImageKind about the need for true archival backing substrate. The company has been listening and announced today that, effective immediately, they will be utilizing an archival board as their standard default backing for all custom framed prints. This archival mounting upgrade requires a nominal price increase which will be applied to the frame fitting charges. This will not affect the base prices.
Bravo Imagekind! I know that the artists in the IK community are tickled with this news!

CafePress Welcomes Imagekind
Posted by: | CommentsCafePress has posted an announcement welcoming Imagekind into the company. According to CafePress, shopkeepers have been asking for more options to their artwork concerning a better selection of papers and frames. By acquiring ImageKind, they are on that path.
According to the CafePress announcement:
While we’re excited and eager to see integration (we’re sure you are too) we have no immediate plans for integrating our websites or brands. In the months to come CafePress and ImageKind will be working together to better understand the optimal path for future integration.
So, for now, it seems that ImageKind shall survive. Still, as an affiliate marketer and IK shopkeeper, I’m hesitant to put too much work into the Imagekind venture for the moment. It appears from that statement that an eventual integration process will occur.
How are you going to handle your ImageKind ventures with this piece of information?
According to the affiliate manager for CafePress, there will be no changes to the affiliate program in 2008. Quote from A Best Web:
From an affiliate program perspective, CafePress and Imagekind will remain separate and run independently of each other. Plans for integrating the two programs are TBD and frankly I don’t expect anything to happen for the remainder of 2008.
