What is it? Here’s the official statement that Printfection sent me this afternoon:

AddMerch allows people to turn their website into a full, Print-On-Demand Merchandise and Apparel store with only two lines of Javascript. They can sell their own images, photos or user generated content. It’s totally free to use and all transaction processing and fullfillment is handled for the partner. They just sit back and collect their commission every month.

I’ll admit…. the idea combined with the myBrand concept is intriguing. I’ve been swamped with catching up from the ice storm today though, so I had no time to play with it. Has anyone had a chance to experiment yet? I’d like to hear from some of you about how you plan to implement it into your sites. Feel free to post some URL’s if you’ve gotten something ready to rock and roll. 

And kudos to Printfection. They’ve begun to come up with a lot of slamming ideas lately. I’ve been disappointed by the lack of sales compared to some of the other POD companies, but they seem to be trying to niche themselves off into an area of offering shopkeepers complete control of their shops. I’m starting a personal blog soon and am beginning to be sorely tempted to use them for merch. Hmmmmmm…. I dunno…. decisions, decisions, decisions….

Woo Hoo! CafePress and Zazzle… sit your arses up and take notes!!!!!

Shopkeepers have been lamenting over the fact that customer’s orders from print-on-demand companies come embalzoned with branding from that particular company on boxes, packing slips, etc.

Bad for shopkeepers because a customer may not remember the URL or name of the shop where they purchased such cool designs, but they’ll sure see all of the POD information front and center. Where will they head for their next purchase? To the POD company’s website, of course. This is even more frustrating when you watch your stats and realize that your site is bringing a lot of that traffic that may never return. It also makes the POD company your competitor in a sense.

Seems to me that one of the POD’s has FINALLY listened to shopkeeper complaints! Printfection has launched myBrand! What is it? Glad you asked!

According to Printfection‘s blog, myBrand gives you, the shopkeeper, control in the following areas:

In-Store Experience

     

  • Ability to remove the Printfection header bar from your store, including the Printfection logo
  • Easier for customers to contact the partner/ store owner directly with the new custom Contact/ Help URL for general inquiries
  • Revised in-store Help Center
  • Contact forms carrying your branding

Checkout Experience

     

  • Customize the logo, background image, and color scheme
  • Choose your own font
  • Return customers to your own URL after checkout

Delivery Experience

     

  • Send order confirmation emails with your own “From” name and your business/ store name displayed prominently in the email body

  • Display your logo on packing slips and shipping labels

And how much is all this beautiful branding gonna cost you? Right now…. abso-freakin-lutely nuthin’…..

I certainly hope CafePress and Zazzle are perkin’ up their widdle ears and takin’ notes! I do believe I just got motivated to work on muh Printfection shops once more! I’m all for custom branding my own t-shirt and gift shops!

In addition to the 10% increase, double sided printing will move from $2 to $3 and there will be an increase to the dark garment surcharge.

All price changes will go live automatically on that date, therefore shopkeepers will not have to manually adjust pricing. The increase will not have an effect on shopkeepers’ commission rates. If a shopkeeper’s markup is $5 before the adjustment, it will still be $5 after the adjustment.

We all know that one of the biggest problems at Printfection has been the lack of image sets. Well, guess what…. they’re here! They’re here! *does happy dance*

That’s right, you can now organize your image basket with pride! No more fumbling through hundreds of images to find that one you’re looking for. Recently, Casey added a few of the frequently asked questions to the Printfection Announcements Forum. Here’s a peek:

FAQ:

How many sets can I have?
As many as you want! There is no limit.

Can I move multiple images into a set all at once?
Yes! On the image basket page, click the checkbox next to the images you want to move and then use the action drop-down to select the destination image set. All of the images you selected will be moved – all at once!

Can I put one image into multiple sets?
No, an image must exist in one set and one set only.

Can I remove the ‘unorganized’ set?
No, the unorganized set cannot be removed.

Can I put a set inside a set?
No, sets are flat and cannot be put inside each other.

Where did the ‘limit’ function go?
The vast majority of store owners did not use this feature. To simplify image management we removed this feature and set a static limit.

Do image sets affect my products or stores?
No, image sets are only used to organize your images and have nothing to do with products or stores.
