Reality is not always what it seems ...

    Hey guys,

Very excited - just got my first payment from Skreened Luv which I'm very happy about (that covers the extra I needed for rent next month), but I noticed that the total from Skreened's ledger for payout was exactly $8 (US) more than what was actually in my Paypal account as payment from them.  Both sites are using US currency (which I then convert to Oz dollars for payment).

No biggie - its just that Zazzle don't seem to have a fee involved in their payouts (and I've been paid in the same dollar range from Zazzle already - ie. over $100), so I presumed that Skreened wouldn't either.  Has anyone else had a payment from Skreened and noticed they have less in their Paypal account that what Skreened payed them?  I guess I should be shooting an email over to Daniel - but I thought I should ask here first.

Oh, and please point out if someone's already asked this question and got an answer here - I'm in a serious rush today and haven't had a chance to go through the boards to see if anyone's asked this already - yes, I'm being lazy today ... Wink

    Thanks!

Boy, Myn, I hope NOT.  Paypal is such a great way for all of you folks outside the US to get your payments FAST. . .and I loved it as the way a "simple housewife" Roll Eyes could sell worldwide and collect secure payments myself.

I was fearful when I signed up that Zazzle would generate a "fee" and very thankful that they haven't.  When I sold on eBay, that was always the bugbear. . .but as a seller, I just had to consider it the cost of doing business worldwide. . .on the side of being paid by Zazzle (and now Screened as I've uploaded some designs there. . .) I hate to see it happen.

I, for one, will be watching the Thread to see what the answer is. . .

Hey Mayhem - thank you for answering that question ... most appreciated.  It sucks, but good to know Smile

Ann - there's the answer ... *sigh* ... I guess it can be claimed on tax?  Maybe?  Business expense?  Possible?

It's still less than I would pay if I got sent a cheque (I get charged a $10 processing fee by my bank for international cheques) and yes, it is most DEFINITELY quicker than waiting for it to be sent over (14-20 days after mailing) then processed (28 business days) before clearing!!  So I'll wear a fee if required.  Zazzle do not seem to have a fee - I've had three payments from them so far and no fees in sight - thank goodness!

Thanks again for clearing that up Mayhem Smile

    Thanks, Mayhem.

Yes, Myn, a tax write-off. . .the "cost of doing business". . .

. . .there are so many things that I justify by thinking of them as "tax write-offs"  LOL

    AND, I take them!!! Wiggle

How much is the fee? Is it the standard Paypal fee or is it some sort of special rates between Paypal and Skreened?

Sorry to hear about the fees. I'm looking into eliminating them now. It shouldn't be a problem, but keep me updated. It's really much easier for us to make payments with paypal, but you're right, that fee is no good.

Is there a fee if you choose to get paid by check?
