What is a test purchase? A test purchase is a purchase made from your shop without revealing your identity as a shopkeeper. Test purchases are helpful to determine whether or not there is a problem with a POD company's tracking of sales.
How do I make a test purchase? The normal method is to ask a trusted friend or family member to make the purchase for you. You pay for the products... the other person purchases the requested items in their name with their billing information and gives you the unopened package when it arrives. Open the package and hand the invoices to the person helping you so that he/she may blackout any personal information, such as credit card numbers, that he/she does not wish to share.
Why make test purchases? Simple... there are no means of identifying whether or not a POD company is tracking sales accurately. Test purchases help us to determine if a company is experiencing a *glitch* in reporting that needs to be corrected. If a pattern of unresolved issues arise, shopkeepers will know to use caution when dealing with that particular company.
Test purchases allow a shopkeeper to: A) ensure that items are indeed shipped by PODs and received by customers B) ensure that sales are reported accurately on his/her account C) inspect items for quality, proper printing, packaging errors, etc.

Please be sure to save receipts, photos of the item(s), and packing slips. Consult a tax advisor to determine whether or not the expense is a legitimate business tax deduction. Also, keep screenshots of the sales reports pages in your admin area if there is a problem with the tracking of a sale.
