Greeting Card Universe Gets A Makeover

Greeting Card Universe has updated their main page. I have to say, I like it better. It seems a bit cleaner. When I land on the front page, I can see about 7 1/2 cards at first glance. It’s also obvious from the get-go now that this site sells paper greeting cards.
So what’s on the front page? There’s a place for a special promotion and new cards and best sellers above the fold. Below the fold, there’s a featured artist, some popular shopping category links, a widget that displays a slideshow of cards that just sold, and customer testimonials.
The pages are also wider. That was one thing that turned me off about the original aesthetics of the site. I absolutely hate sites that seem to be a narrow strip down the middle of your browser. According to their forums, there are plans to widen all of the shops as well, but this probably won’t be done until after Christmas.
Is it just me, or are the lighter blue links hard to read? The end of the logo where it fades out is harder for me to read as well. Maybe I’m just old. LOL
