Sample Video For Flip Mino

As you’ve probably heard, my Flip Mino arrived today! I couldn’t wait to see it. I absolutely love, love, love it! It is so easy to use and I’ll be carrying it everywhere with me! The colors are a tad washed out, but it may have been the lighting at my parent’s house.

(I’m really sorry… I haven’t figured out how to get the videos to show online… I’ll have to look for a solution tomorrow… I’m too tired tonight… you’ll have to click the link and view it in your Windows Media Player.)

Here’s a quick shot of Landon and Vallory saying, “Hi” to everyone… can you tell which one of my kids is the ham?

Here’s a photo I yanked out of one of the videos…. really, really easy to do!

  1. Anyone else out there (that “talks” to webmistress on a regular basis but has not a clue as to what she actually looks like) get really close to the screen to check out photos on the wall in video? She ain’t there far as i can tell. hmmmph…

  2. LOL Apparently you ain’t too observant…. :D

When Vallory is saying her bit, there’s a photo to her right…. my parents are in the front…. I’m standing behind my mother…. my brother is standing behind my father… it was taken just after I started my teaching career…. one of the first things I purchased with my teacher’s check….. I was about 23… so it’s been, what? 3 or 4 years? *whistles innocently*

The photo below is my brother and I back in the seventies…. the other two pics of the little girl are of my niece when she was little…. yeah… that’s our beautiful Homecoming Queen…. :D

    But that’s as close as you’re getting… I have a goal… I may reveal myself this coming summer…. we’ll see…. ;)

  3. Since you’re at dreamhost you can use their system to imbed videos I believe. (In your panel, under goodies - ‘flash media’) If that won’t work (not sure what formats you need) you can always set up an account at youtube.com or viddler.com (I like viddler, personally. And I know you can keep videos ‘private’ there if you want.) Either of them will give you code to let you imbed the video in your blog. Hope this helps! :D (I’m on dialup - will try to see your video later though!)

  4. Oh, thank you Kristen!!!! I’ll have to look at my Dreamhost account later!

I’ll be adding some videos, but since this one was a quick vid of my kids, I didn’t want to add it to YouTube….. I had no idea that you could upload private videos….. if I can’t get the DH thing to work, I’ll look at it for personal glimpses into my world that I don’t necessarily want splashed all over YouTube…

    Thank you!

  5. Cool! Glad I could help! Is there video software that comes with the Mino? (Getting my own soon too, but can’t wait - LOL) Is that how you yanked out that still shot? That would be handy! :)

  6. When you plug the Mino into the computer, an AutoRun program pops up….. sort of like inserting a picture disc from Wal Mart….

and yes…. I pulled that still shot out of the movie as a practice…. OMG! It was soooooo easy!!!! I expected it to be complicated for some reason…. you click a button to Edit the video….. then there’s a button you can click to advance it frame by frame…. when you find a still you want to grab, you just click a button and Save it….

I’m thinking this thing will be great for sports and programs…. instead of juggling a camcorder AND a still shot camera, you can just video with the Flip and pull out the shots you want later…. I know I always catch the kids with their eyes closed or mouths open…. :D You can just skim past those frames and pull out the good still shots only….
